Solarium of Nowy Teatr: Agnieszka Polska
With the first days of spring, we invite our audiences to Agnieszka Polska's The New Sun, a cosmic recital, a lame stand-up comedy, and above all, a melancholic encounter with a tender heated star. The protagonist of Polska's work is a giant sun brought to life by the artist, addressing the viewer directly in its monologue. Philosophical dilemmas and socio-political problems are intertwined with cloying songs and hopeful sighs.

A giant with the face of a child, it is both a mesmerizing lover, a sage heralding disaster and a caring mother, looking at and through man. It is an eternal companion, giving hope and incinerating enthusiasm.
The New Sun is the first work and matron of Nowy Teatr's Solarium series, in which visual artists present works whose light can warm the audience. The program is a response to the mental winter – darkness of the mind, frozen horizons and icy feelings.
