Nowy Teatr invites applications for a performance workshop with Katy Baird, taking place on December 4^th 2025, from 12:00 to 16:00 at Nowy Teatr in Warsaw, as part of the 6th New Europe International Festival: PRETTY HARDCORE.

Devising and Disrupting, A Performance Workshop

Try out different ways to create live work from your own life in this practical performance workshop with artist Katy Baird.

Through a collaborative process, participants will experiment with video, sound, text, movement and repetition - smashing it all together into something that makes sense in its own strange way. This workshop is not about creating performance with a neat narrative. It is about experimenting with different ways to say something. The focus is on feelings over message and what is real over what is polished.

Anyone over the age of 18 can participate in the workshops. 
Those interested in participating are asked to send their CV (maximum one page) along with a brief response (maximum one page) to the following question: How could this experience influence your artistic practice?

Selected participants will be notified in writing. Prior to the workshop, attendees will be asked to complete a preparatory task assigned by Katy Baird.

Participation is free of charge.
The workshop will be conducted in English.

Katy Baird (she/her) is a Scottish artist, activist and curator whose work moves between theatres, performance spaces and the world of queer nightlife. She is known for bold, provocative performances exploring class, gender, sexuality and the pursuit of pleasure. Katy has brought her work to major festivals and galleries as well as underground queer clubs, squat parties and raves across the UK and internationally. Her current show Get Off is produced by CAMPO and touring internationally. It will be presented at the Nowy Teatr in December.
