Who are our brothers and sisters – those who live on our planet alongside human beings, thinking and feeling... do they have souls, what do their lives look like, how do they feed, have sex and die? What did our relationship with them look like over the ages, animals both wild and domesticated? Where did human cruelty towards animals come from, along with our willingness to deal with the harm we cause them? How did science evolve in this respect and what does it have to say on the topic today? How have theology and Church attitudes to the topic changed, can hunting and eating animals be ethical?
