The play is created in a country where women have limited access to reproductive health and where abortion is currently practically illegal. Despite strong protests, women are deprived of rights.

The performance was inspired by activist actions - the idea for women to openly and without shame talk about having an abortion and for this collective act to initiate a change in the law. It could be a story of social activism success.

And yet, "She was a friend of someone else" is a story with too many possible beginnings and few endings, as well as a narrator who is exhausted.

The play explores the connection between burnout and activism: the fear that rights are not permanently granted and that when one loses vigilance, they can be invalidated. Through personal narration, it describes the involvement of the women's movement in Poland.

Subtle choreography immerses us in the life of a woman who, instead of protesting, decides to stay in bed, and eventually decides to take an active stance and participate.

In the play, the director partially uses documentary materials and research on the topic of collective abortion coming-out prepared for the play "I Will Speak, and I Will See What Happens," initiated by the feminist collective TERAZ POLIŻ (Marta Jalowska, Dorota Glac, Kamila Worobiej), created collectively and invited creators: Martyna Wawrzyniak and Gosia Wdowik. The premiere of "I Will Speak, and I Will See What Happens" took place on December 21, 2021.
