The world that Krum finds there is affected by a kind of paralysis. As if the reality to which he returns is frozen in anticipation of something that could make its existence meaningful, something that will trigger events. This is what eventually happens, but the actions of the characters appear to be chaotic, and the awakened life makeshift, filled with a repetitive rhythm of births, weddings and funerals. Krum appears to be the most passive among them; it is someone else that gets married, or dies, or leaves the town. Perhaps in this way the other people experience the different possible variants of the protagonist's fate. Placed in a situation of a viewer who briefly suspends his identity and is completely overwhelmed by illusion, Krum watches the catalog of his dreams and fears in the form of a theatrical spectacle, as if in a dream.
