The first edition, newly organised by Nowy Teatr, a review of the latest theatre and dance trends in Poland. Presentations scheduled for 23-25 February 2017.
The Polish scene is experiencing another generational changing of the guard. It features not only young artists who are radically changing the ways in which artistic expression is constructed. The dance scene is growing, and this has aroused the need to discuss and redefine the medium of theatre.
Generation After emerged at a moment of disillusionment with neoliberal and liberal mirages, at a time of deep crisis of democracy and trust in political, social and economic structures. It is the time of the afterparty after a night out, on a heavy hangover. Art becomes a field of exploration of alternatives. Faced with the temporary exhaustion of art's critical potential, in the post-truth era, strongly personalised statements by young artists become particularly important.
