"In my research for the Future Laboratory I’m interested in identity politics and realities of marginalised groups, especially the queer community. Who is visible and represented in the cityscape? What are safe spaces? How do they look like and how to create them? What part could a theatre possibly play in this? I’m also searching for personal stories about visible and invisible scars, the feeling of loneliness but also the beauty that lies in pain, the fantasies of happiness and freedom and the joy of being. There are this big questions that bother me of who we are as humans and how to live a (good) life - especially when you always feel a bit different."
Anne Sophie Kapser, a director and performer lbased in Munich, held a two-week residency at the Nowy Teatr as part of the FUTURE LABORATORY project. Her research focused on Polish identity politics and the realities of marginalized groups, particularly the queer and feminist communities in Warsaw.
Join us for a conversation around her work and research topic in the form of a performative lecture.
