Dancer Of The Year

What does the award of the Dancer of the Year mean for an artist? Does it bring happiness or burdens beyond measure? Is it the beginning of the end of the creative path?
The outsider of the New York dance scene Trajal Harrell, named the best dancer of 2018 by Tanz Magazine, examines his own case. The artist who continues to undermine the routine of the award-granting system attempts to deconstruct himself. He works on the dream of gaining recognition and confronts it with the reality of becoming the award-winner who doesn’t get any financial support for his latest production.
