What is involved in adapting text for stage and screen? What guides directors in their search for scenes and inspirations taken from texts? How can we today respond to Orwellian dystopias and why should we stage them in theatre?
Reading Orwell together, we will try to consider what critical theatre of today is and who it is for. We will analyse selected fragments of the book and based on these we will prepare a rough staging conception, so that each participant can create their own vision of the show or individual scenes.
