Dotykafonie
I am an artist who likes to challenge himself and enter new creative territories. As a cellist, I would like to get up from my chair and, like a singer or an actor, experience the whole space of the stage; to touch the subject of the body and corporeality - practically absent in the world of so-called classical music; to show music in the context of non-heteronormative sensitivity; to introduce narrative into concerts and, as in theatre, to tell stories; to break through the invisible boundary separating the fields of work of the musician-performer and the composer. I invented Dotykafonie to outline new spaces, to reach sensitive places, my own and those of the audience.
During the performance KCKM to music from the album Kora ∞, together with choreographer Paweł Sakowicz we will explore what happens to a musician who decides to leave the classical framework of a concert and let his body move on stage.
With pianist Bartek Wąsik, with whom we form a duo, we will try to listen carefully to the music of Karol Szymanowski, who, as one of the few of his time, audaciously created his own queer identity, which clearly resonates in his music.
What Is Love, in a duo with Kuba Krzewiński, will have a performative character: we will talk about what romance sounds like in the 21st century through the ears of contemporary male and female composers. Finally, at the end of Dotykafonie, I will premiere a piece of my own, which I hope will open up further spaces for my creation.
There will be touch (pl. dotyk), and there will be sound (pl. fonia). We launch on 8 January 2023 at the Nowy Theatre.
